Resilience in Ann Arbor Neighborhoods

SI 350 UX Field Research, May 2019

Researchers interviewed six residents from Southwestern Ann Arbor (Ward 4), in the Dicken and Allmendinger neighborhoods. They were able to identify the emotions, motivations, and needs of these residents through analyzing the gathered data. Residents expressed that resilience was closely related to community engagement. Users also placed importance on governmental communication and consistency during problems in their communities. If the city of Ann Arbor made efforts to generate community closeness, clarify its responsibilities, and consolidate important information from the city website, residents would be able to better foster community resilience.
